The position she holds, however, means that Schlapp does not have contact with journalists. But she drew a burst of media attention when she was mentioned as a potential replacement Hope Hicks as communications director. The fight turned ugly. Schlapp's ally Tony Sayegh and an opponent with the same name, Tony, have been fighting in the news. When Schlapp was informed that the Washington Examiner published a negative report on Sayegh Schlapp claimed she phoned the candidate to be open heart.
